The USGBC-NCC mission is supported by a number of committees that meet
regularly and contribute to green building efforts both within the
chapter and regionally. Contact the Committee Chair to get involved.
Advocacy
The Advocacy Committee organizes around significant public issues
facing green building at the state and local levels. The Chapter works
closely with the USGBC national office, as well as other USGBC chapters
throughout California on state-wide issues. The Chapter committee also
works on local and municipal policy matters. To become involved with
the Chapter's advocacy efforts, contact the Chair of the advocacy committee which
you find of interest.
Bay Area LEED Users Group (BAyLUG)
The mission of BAyLUG is to promote the use and understanding of
green building at the local level. While LEED is of particular
interest, BAyLUG encompasses a broad array of additional green topics.
Thanks to the wealth of Bay Area experts, BAyLUG consistently features

Emerging Green BuildersEmerging Green Builders (EGB) is a committee created to
serve the interests of students and those new to the profession. The goals of
the EGB are twofold: internal support and networking, and external education

Finance
Chaired by the Treasurer, the committee is
looking for people with knowledge of accounting and finance to support
the treasurer and grow into a leadership role. The Finance Committee Chair is Lisa Galley, Founder and Principal of Galley Eco Capital, LLC.

Green Homes - Residential Green Building (RGB)
The RGB Committee provides a forum for Collaboration and Outreach
within the Residential Market. With help from the USGBC, the committee also develops ideas for reaching out to home
builders, architects, realtors, city departments and all parties
involved in the design and construction of residential buildings and
neighborhoods. The goal of the Residential Green Building
Committee is to drive market transformation by delivering a consistent
message about green building practices and streamlining the process of

Metro Programs Committee (San Francisco, Berkeley, and Oakland)
The Metro Program Committee organizes educational networking
events for all professions related to green building. By highlighting
successful local projects and assembling panels on a broad range of
sustainability topics, the Metro Programs Committee works hard to ensure
that the public stays informed on successful innovations and progress
within the green building sector. The Metro Program Committee Chair is Diana Volovelskay.
