Sacramento Branch Mission Statement Revised!
October 2009
To better reflect and focus our efforts, the Sacramento Branch revised our mission statement recently. Under the direction of Special Projects "Godfather" Brian Sehnert, and the excellent facilitation efforts of Scott Sodder, the leadership team had a great collaborative session to do some deep thinking about what our Branch wants to be. Our vision is the Chapter's vision. Our mission helps define our role as the Sacramento Branch. It was an important session and one that we hope will help us communicate better in the future. Have a look!
Design Build: Turning LEED Silver to Gold+
August 2009
Anne Cavanagh, Joel Griffith, Lowell Shields and Mike Parrott at Nacht and Lewis Architects described the workings, design process, and efficiency improvements before we toured the new California Central Plant. Described by some as the "Texas-sized Central Plant", we had a great tour to see the inside of this awesome facility that takes up a city block. Some were lucky enough to see the massive blades on the cooling fans up close, and everyone got to see the inside of the cooling tower and boiler rooms, to understand the mechanical principles of this massive facility that provides heating and cooling to much of the City.
